L and Watari are characters from Takeshi Obata's and Tsugumi Ohba's hit manga Death Note. The names "L" and "Watari" are actually aliases, but I won't reveal their real names as those are considered pretty huge spoilers... Anyway, in the series L is a genius detective whose most recent case is to find out who this "Kira" is who terrorizes the whole world by killing criminals in order to create a pure world. The case is über difficult as Kira's ways to kill are a complete mystery and seem almost impossible for a mere human, but did I already mention that L is pretty kickassy? So yeah, find out lots of stuff he does.
    Watari is the only person who seems to know L outside his work - he's an assistant of his, takes care of all the technical things behind his cases, and on top of that makes sure that L remembers to eat and bathe at least once in a while (L might be clever, but earthly matters like that don't trouble him much). In short, he's like a caretaker of both "L" and the person behind the alias.

Obata-san and Ohba-san never really bothered to give us much information about the relationship between these two, but if you ask me, Watari is like a servant, caretaker, mentor and the encouraging uncle of L. Actually, he is probably the only person who knows who L truly is. Watari is completely devoted to his work, funding everything L needs for his cases and also taking care of him like a parent, and as even a loner like L needs to have some sort of social contact with another human he needs to have someone like Watari around him. Not only that, but Watari is the only one L truly trusts and accepts around him. It's clear that they've seen a long journey together and have a world of their own.
    About the title of the fanlisting, I simply wanted something that would show that there is a lot there unmentioned, somewhere where no one else than Watari and L can see, the comfortable familiarity and trust.
