In the room there's a table for everyone to put their drinks on, but that was a bit troublesome because the table was apparently Mari's territory and how DARE you put your stuff on her table?! She only allowed it on the condition she could sniff and sometimes taste whatever drink you'd ordered.

Chika! :D

Kuu trying to fit into small places and Curl has found a new place to sleep in.

Chika was all over this cafe lady this time, climbing on top of her and all. XD

Ruka! ♥ I had forgotten there was a Scottish Fold there, their ears are quite cute. Took a lot of photos of him, but most didn't come out too well because of my mad fail skillz.

At some point Chika and Lala disapproved of each other and started hissing, but the cafe ladies put an end to it quite fast.

Here you can see the hole in the wall: of course the small room was not the whole living area for the cats but only the area customers could enter, through the hole the kitties can enter the other side with their litter boxes and food and general privacy.

Here's the cat (whose name I never caught) with his very odd tail, when you brushed the tail it was like there was a bigger chunk at the end of it. By the way, this cat's also portrayed in Jalala's logo which explains why the black cat in it has a strange tail.

Time to leave the kitties behind and head to the hotel. Was too tired to get proper food (read: McDonalds) though, so got a bento from the shop on the way. It was quite good actually.

One day they were showing the first Death Note movie on TV. Too bad I was too tired to watch it.

My sister took a photo of the nightview.

A note about women-only cars in the asphalt of the train station. (For those who aren't aware of it, they have those on rush hours after all the complaints from women that they always get groped and harassed during rush hours.)

This hall was exciting!!

Then came Comiket 78, but I decided to make a separate photo section for the cosplay photos taken there as there are quite many of them. Please go here if you wish to see those.

After Comiket on Saturday there was something special I wanted to do: earlier that week I had gotten this flyer.

Let's zoom a bit:

...Yes. A Hetalia cosplay cafe. However, I couldn't find any mention of a date in the info text on the other side and I was quite sure it was only for a limited time sometime because the address was for Wonder Parlour Cafe which is usually a maid cafe but sometimes does special things like this. So when I had time after Comiket on Saturday, I went there to ask about the event but sadly the event had already been done some time ago. Really too bad, could have been quite a fun and cracky experience to visit such a cafe.

The third day of Comiket I decided to skip because that day there was a famous Fukagawa Hachiman Festival held at Tomioka Hachimangu Shrine in Monzennakacho. This is the festival where people wear happi coats and carry portable shrines. However, the festival in Monzennakacho is also nicknamed Mizukake Matsuri, "water-throwing festival", because people keep throwing water on the mikoshi carriers to cool them down in the heat.

People preparing for the mikoshi carrying. (For these photos taken on the street you'll notice they may not be pointed at anything really, that is because there were quite a lot of people so most of the time I just stretched my arm into the air, pointed the camera somewhere interesting and pressed the button. XD)

There were buckets full of water everywhere so people could take water from them and throw on the carriers.

Walking alongside the street I found this pachinko parlor. Seriously, Eva people. :I

And here's the first of the short-and-pointless video clips! However, this one's more for the sound than the picture - hear that loud ZRIIIII noise in it? Well, that's a cicada, the bugs you always hear in anime (and read as SFX in manga) when the scene takes place in late summer. I had expected to hear that sound in Japan, but what surprised me was that HOLY SHIT THOSE BUGS ARE LOUD. 8I The clip shows somewhat how loud only one (1) bug is, and even that wasn't anywhere near the camera. Now, imagine a park on a hot summer day when the trees have a HUMONGOUS AMOUNT OF THEM.

Okay, let's get going!

Moved to the other side of the street just behind the guys throwing water.

People carry the mikoshi by the pool...

...then continue on their way...

...and a new mikoshi appears IN AN INFINITE LOOP.
