Sometimes someone went to the pool and asked them to throw water on them too as it was such a hot day.

A short clip of water-splashing. (I didn't dare to take too long video clips as my memory card didn't have much room left.)

Drummers.

A short clip of them too.

...Wait, what?

Another instance of WAIT WHAT. XD

SPLASHING WATER IS FOR SISSIES

All right, time to proceed to the actual festival area!

Can someone please tell me what's the point of these balls? I always thought they were water balloons, but they're like little inflatable beach balls at the end of a bouncy string. I remember "jojo" written in katakana in the sign, so is that the whole point of them?

And then... a dream come true. I got to try goldfish catching! ;__;

Except that there were some communication problems, the guy at the booth kept asking me something in Japanese and I had no idea what, he didn't speak English and neither did any of the other people at the booth so there was a moment of confusion there. Then I suddenly hear from my side in very good English, "can I help you?" Some Japanese man who had been passing by had heard us talk and as he spoke good English he came to translate for us. That was so nice, in the end what the booth guy had tried to ask was that there were two "game" options, one where you take the fish with you afterward and one where you release them after catching (plus probably some other differences). I chose not to take them seeing as I would have had nowhere to put them at the hotel.

The translator guy was very nice and watched my lousy try at the game, and at one point asked if he could take a photo of me. Of course I said yes, Japan needs to get proof of a gaijin failing at their game!

The outcome, I sort of sucked at the game but much less than I had thought, I had expected not to catch even one tiny fish but in the end I got three of them! :D Whee~

Ooh, cotton candy! Was unsure whether or not to buy some as I was thinking of saving money...

...til we saw one of the bags. Home it came with us. XD

Tiny kitsune shrine.

Doesn't get any more authentic than this!
